While in the military, Amber was an information systems technician (IT) focused on keeping mission critical communication systems such as radio and Navy networks operating successfully. She assumed voluntary roles during her service to manage her command’s sexual assault response and prevention program as well as the drug and alcohol program. After the Navy she obtained her Bachelor of Social Work and gained counseling experience working with adults with opioid use disorder.
Amber has been passionate about giving back to her community and constantly seeks opportunities to get involved. She has dedicated her time and efforts in organizations such as the Wounded Warrior Project and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Her commitment to community led her to seek the opportunity to join the board at LVF. Her social work values of service, social justice, dignity and worth of all persons, and the importance of human relationships coupled with her experience working with sexual assault victims and people struggling with addiction compel her to provide excellent care to maintain the mission and financial health of LVF. She is humbled to become a part of such a diverse and powerful team and looks forward to serving, always keeping survivors and community in the forefront of her mind.
